About The Bargain Queen

The Bargain Queen web site is the brainchild of twenty-something Sydney-sider Sara Goldstein.
Sara started blogging two years ago to write about her bargain shopping adventures — and within a few months the site had a devoted audience, despite the fact that she hadn’t started to promote it yet!
Sara soon realized that her bargain hunting skills could be used to fix two problems that many women have.
1. We make bargain shopping fast and easy
Shopping online can be a time-consuming because there are so many options. If you’ve shopped online recently, sights like these will likely be familiar:

* Names have been removed to protect the guilty innocent
It can take hours to sort through this many options, so one way we help our readers is by finding the best deals for them.
We spend hours trawling great bargain shopping web sites, viewing hundreds or even thousands of products to find the very best. Then we post them here, so you can get a great deal by simply clicking on your favorite and buying it.
2. We provide reality-tested style advice
We’ve all read fashion publications that breathlessly recommend impractical, overpriced, unflattering clothing.
If you’ve read a fashion magazine lately, oddly proportioned outfits like this will be a familiar sight:

This outfit is recommended to wear on the weekend when you’re out shopping, but doesn’t resemble the relaxed ensembles many women like for their off-duty hours.
Also, all together this outfit costs US$1859 — or over four weeks’ take-home income for the average American woman!
In many magazines, practically every garment that gets the fashion editor stamp of approval costs far more than most women can afford. Unfortunately, this gives many women the impression that they can’t afford to be stylish unless a makeover show comes and helps them out!
Here at The Bargain Queen, we know that you definitely can be stylish on a normal salary and you don’t have to wear anything so edgy and hip that it’s unflattering.
We hope you find our bargains reasonably priced and our advice practical, informative and inspiring!

Hi Mia,
Good question — we do write about a lot of products that are available through affiliate programs, as well as writing articles with great advice and tips.
The reason we do this is because most of our readers want great bargains they can buy straight away. We have relationships with around 50 sites and sort through thousands of products to find the absolute best bargains.
That means that we make money providing our readers with exactly what they want, i.e. great bargains.
While our readers keep buying bargains we find for them, we’ll keep writing about it — because it’s a win-win situation as far as we’re concerned.
All the best,
Sara

So when someone buys something you recommend you must get a sales commission to make money. Correct?
Sydney's Bargain Queen, Sara said,
Exactly. If we recommend things our readers don’t want, we make zero. But if we recommend things they love, we make money ![]()

What happened to this website? I used to come here to read interesting, practical articles about saving money and spending wisely. Now it’s just a bunch of advertisements for cheap stuff! I’m disappointed.

How can you have a no advertising poilicy, when the only things you blog about are affliate program items?
