Organize your makeup at a nice price
Looking for a way to organize your makeup that’s portable and easy to use? Make a makeup binder by filling a large binder with zippered pencil pouches like these. You can fill the pouches with most types of makeup and even your include your makeup brushes.
Organize your makeup by type or by look. For example, you could keep eye shadows together, or keep eye shadows with complementary blushes and lipsticks. Because pouches can be added easily, you can expand your binder as your makeup collection grows. And to take your makeup with you for the day, just throw the pouch you need into your tote.

I love this idea, although as a Trish McEvoy devotee, all of her make-up organizers are three-ring binders with pockets & pouches for brushes and extras. All of her make-up is magnetic and adheres to the “planner” pages. Its small and compact and I take it everywhere with me! Its the best thing going, IMO.
That does sound excellent! I love it when makeup companies really think about things like that and not just about the makeup itself.
I love Prescriptives, but right now I’m sort of p.o.’ed at the company since their compacts keep breaking. I can get them replaced, but they still have the same problem. And unfortunately, the eye shadows and blushes are designed only to fit in their compacts (which are so overpriced to being with).
As a result, I’ve started getting my eye shadows elsewhere — and stashing them all in my homemade makeup binder.
Maybe I’ll have to check out Trish McEvoy ; )
Oooo - that’s a good idea. Love that you make it work for you! Check out Trish’s planner - even the tiniest planner (I thinks it about 4×6) fits my Maybelline mascara - I slide it right inside the 3 rings. Plus, with the extra pockets there’s room for all kinds of stuff (my tweezers, my Mary Kay under eye concealer, etc.) The kicker is that her brushes are designed for her planner, so you have to buy the whole set. My others didn’t fit. But, i did find that Sephora’s smallest brushes work. If you get the med. or lg. Trish planner its not a problem.
I used to use Prescriptives - 10 years ago! I remember that their compacts broke easily - glad to see they’ve fixed the design flaw! Its a good product though.
What size is your binder? Is it small enough to throw in your purse?
I did take a look at the planner, and the other products. By the looks of it, it’s definitely a brand I could grow into (bit pricey to convert all at once — but that goes for just about any brand these days).
The binder I have is a standard 4″ binder like you’d find at an office supply store. It’s huge — but then so is my makeup collection. I keep everything in there except my foundation and some other larger items like eye liner tubs and large powder containers. I definitely can’t take it in my typical purse, but I can slip a pocket from it into my purse if I want. Right now, though, I’ve been using another small zippered bag to hold the few things I take with me.
